Looking for the latest hotspots in Bed-Stuy’s ever-evolving food scene? Look no further than Badaboom and Dolores, two exciting new restaurants poised to become neighborhood favorites. From French-inspired comfort food to authentic Mexican cantina fare, these spots offer a diverse range of culinary experiences. Here’s your guide to these must-try eateries:

Badaboom: Your Go-To for French Rotisserie Chicken and More
Craving a taste of France in the heart of Bed-Stuy? Badaboom, located at 421 Bainbridge St., offers a menu of French-inspired classics with a focus on rotisserie chicken and elevated comfort food. This new restaurant aims to bring an unpretentious vibe with excellent offerings.

The restaurant is the latest venture from Henry Glucroft and Charles Gerbier, two established restaurateurs with deep ties to the neighborhood. With its bright blue exterior and charming tiled entrance, Badaboom is set to become a welcoming and familiar presence on Bainbridge Street.

The menu features a variety of dishes, including the signature rotisserie chicken, steak frites, fresh fish, and vegetarian options. Appetizers range from $10 to $20, while entrees are priced from $25 to $45. Don’t miss the carefully curated selection of French beer and wine to complement your meal.

“We just want to make good food that we’re hoping the neighborhood can say, ‘Man, I just want to go out for a nice steak frites, I just want a good meal close to home,’” says Glucroft. This reflects the restaurant’s desire to serve the neighborhood.

Dolores: Experience the Authentic Flavors of Mexico City
Transport yourself to Mexico City at Dolores, a new cantina opening soon at 397 Tompkins Ave. This casual and spirited establishment, brought to you by the team behind Winona’s (Cressida Greening and Emir Dupeyron, along with bar director Leanne Favre), will offer a menu of tacos, small plates, and agave-based cocktails.

Named after Dupeyron’s great-grandmother and inspired by the cantinas of his native Mexico City, Dolores aims to be a place where people can relax and enjoy authentic flavors. The menu will feature highlights like the “El Rey” carne asada taco on a flour tortilla from Caramelo, as well as tacos de lengua, tacos del día, bar snacks, and daily guisados (braised stews). Cocktails are priced around $16, and food ranges from $5 to $25.

Dolores will not be accepting reservations, emphasizing its commitment to serving the local community. “We want it to feel truly local, which is why we’re not doing reservations,” says Greening. “We all live in Bed-Stuy, and we want this place to be for Bed-Stuy.”
